We can help reverse the effects of injuries caused by repetitive motion, over-use, poor posture, and poor lifting habits. At Advanced Physical Therapy & Massage, we believe in promoting wellness through injury prevention, instruction in a strengthening and flexibility exercise program to restore muscle balance, function, and provide patient education on proper body mechanics and posture.
Massage therapy services include deep tissue massage, Swedish, Shiatsu, and muscle energy. At present, we have 1 massage therapist who does traditional types of massage. Andrea can be reached directly at (319)828-8124. Sue Bransky, PT is available for private pay therapeutic bodywork. She is highly skilled in John F Barnes myofascial release techniques, deep tissue massage, muscle energy, Upledger craniosacral therapy, Barral visceral manipulation, and energy work. John F. Barnes myofascial release and Upledger craniosacral therapy are gentle, therapeutic, relaxing, and self-empowering forms of bodywork which enhance the body’s ability to heal itself. It is extremely effective for treatment of sports injuries, chronic pain, acute pain, fibromyalgia, headaches, back pain, neck pain, TMJ, and adhesive capsulitis. Barral visceral manipulation addresses the fascial adhesions around the organs and nerves and is helpful for treatment of gastrointestinal issues, pelvic floor issues, nerve pain, brain trauma, and general well-being of the organs.
Mechanical and manual traction is available for treatment of “bulging discs.”
