Our address is 359 N. 1st Ave. Iowa City (across from Regina HS).  Our goal is to provide convenient physical therapy, John Barnes myofascial release, Barral visceral manipulation, and craniosacral therapy services to Iowa City, Iowa residents and the surrounding communities.

Our clinic hours are from 6:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday, and weekends by appointment. Our physical therapy services are tailored to the unique needs of each patient. A physician’s referral is welcome, but not necessary in the state of Iowa. Unfortunately, we do not bill for Medicare and Medicaid patients.

Our services include physical therapy for treatment of back pain, sciatica, neck pain, TMJ, shoulder pain, tendonitis, hip pain, knee pain, elbow pain, ankle sprains, plantar fasciitis, fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, vertigo. We also treat pelvic floor dysfunction and Women’s Health issues. We gently yet effectively treat post-surgical and post-fracture rehabilitation.  We specialize in John F Barnes myofascial release, manual therapy techniques,Barral visceral manipulation, deep tissue massage, chronic pain management, craniosacral therapy, sports injury and golf injury prevention/rehabilitation.  We can help reverse the effects of injuries caused by repetitive motion, over-use, poor posture, and poor lifting habits.  At Advanced Physical Therapy & Massage, we believe in promoting wellness through injury prevention, instruction in a strengthening and flexibility exercise program to restore muscle balance, function, and provide patient education on proper body mechanics and posture.

Massage therapy services include John F Barnes myofascial release techniques, deep tissue massage, muscle energy, Swedish, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, and energy work.  John F. Barnes myofascial release is a gentle, therapeutic, relaxing, and self-empowering form of massage which enhances the body’s ability to heal itself. It is extremely effective for treatment of sports injuries, chronic pain, acute pain, fibromyalgia, headaches, back pain, neck pain. At present, we have 3 therapists for massage therapy.

Mechanical and manual traction is available for treatment of “bulging discs.”
